Budget Buy: Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner |

Its not very often that i rave about haircare on my blog but when i find i product that has amazed me so much its worth a post of its own right? Since buying the Dove Leave In Conditioner Spray and also the shampoo i thought that i would try one of the conditioners that they have. I notice the Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner in Boots for £3.99 and thought it was worth a whirl.

The conditioner is aimed to give a deep nourishment to the hair and help to repair split ends and breakages. It has a micro moisture serum which intensely nourishes and seals lifted cuticles against future damage and is packed with all the benefits of a treatment at the quick speed of a conditioner.

First of all i love the smell of the dove products i cant quite but my finger on it but its sort of fruity i guess. I use the conditioner through the mid lengths to the ends and leave it on for a minute. Once washed out my hair feels so soft and silky and generally more hydrated in the ends. I have been using this for a couple of weeks and have really seen a lovely difference in the way my hair looks and feels at the ends. Its so affordable and im only a quarter of the way into the tube so its great value for money. I am so impressed with the dove range and i really want to try out many more of the products. But this conditioner is so quick and simple to use with fab results. Would really recommend if your hair is in need of a boost.

Have you tried Dove conditioners?

My Top 3 Hair Products |

I have always had very fine and thin hair which is something that never used to bother me at all and i was very happy with my mousey colour hair. As soon as i turned 18 i wanted to change my hair up so i opted for a very dark brown. I love my hair colour but it takes alot of maintaining as it seems to fade quite easily and loses its shine very easily. I like my hair as a side fringe and then on the crown/roots of my hair i like to have volume and texture at the ends. I have not been using straighteners or hairdryers as much probably about once a week in the last 5 months or so and ive said a big difference in the strength of my hair as it used to break so easily and everywhere in the house used to have little bits of my hair. Not good!! I tend to switch my hairstyles up and at the moment i am always seen with my hair in the bun as im getting my outgrown roots done on my birthday this thursday yayyyyy!!

Anyway onto the three products that are my top favourites.......

The first one is the Tresemme Texture Spray. I love this spray as it provides a lovely beach babe effect in the hair without wearing your hair down with loads of product. I like to spray this in the roots of my hair and give it a quick working in with my hands and im left with that bit of volume and effortless look. This is such an affordable product and ive already used so much of it. I dont tend to use this everyday as i find it does dry my hair out pretty quickly but when im in that mood of cant be bothered to do anything but i want to look reasonable i spritx abit of this and im done.

The next favourite is the Charles Worthington Salon At Home Shine Booster. I was lucky to receive this in the BAFTA goody bag that i won a few months back and i am in love with the range. I am really itching to try more. But this product is amazing, its just like red carpet material for your hair. You apply this to your hair before you wash your hair and want 10 minutes or so rinse out and follow up with shampoo and conditioner. Be careful not to out too much product on before as your hair can become very greasy the next day. I loved the result when i blowdried my hair afterwards. My hair was gleaming and so glossy. I use this about once a week just to give my hair abit of a boost in shine. I think this is a lovely treat for special occassions like birthdays etc when you want to feel your best!!

The last product is the Samy Fat Hair Thickening Spray. I adore this spray so so much. I brought this a at the beginning of the year on a whim thinking that this spray would do absolutely zero to my hair and i was totally surprised. Its a cheap product that is so easily affordable and provides such fabulous results. You spray this on hair before you blowdry your hair and then afterwards you feel like your hair is 10x thicker. Especially on the roots it feels and looks amazing. I love using this on a night out instead of backcombing my hair as it gives enough volume and lift.

All three of these products have changed my hair and have given me the things i have wanted for my hair like volume, shine and texture. Each one of them are affordable and i am looking to find some more hair products that will be some more favourites too!!

SOS Haircare Treatment - Goldwell Dual Senses Scalp 60Second Treatment |

Just lately my hair has been really dry on my scalp and somewhat irritated too. I have been using my beloved Redken range for so long and even that is just making my scalp even more sore. So i have been using Oilatum Shampoo twice a week which has been really soothing and gentle but i was still left with dry patches on my scalp. I have been searching for a good month something to clear and help my hair as i cant even bare to get my roots re done as im worried that my scalp will be irritated further. I came across on Feelunique the Goldwell Dual Senses Scalp 60 Second Treatment for Sensitive Scalps.

This treatments aims to calm the scalp and soothe it completely and is ideal for all hair types. Its applied to shampooed hair for 60 second before rinsing out and conditioning after. It helps to regenerate the scalp and leaving your locks more healthy. Its also free from colourants and fragrances.
To be honest trying this out i was sceptical as i have been trying other treatments to help my scalp and nothing had done wonders or miracles. I applied this to my hair after shampooing massaging my scalp and the ends of my hair. When i was washing the product out i could feel how soft my hair was and completely detangled. It was like that feeling when you have your hair washed at the hairdressers and your hair feels so silky and soft . It felt like that. My hair felt like its best. I then blow dried my hair and again my hair was shiny and soft but also my scalp and dryness was no where to be seen. This was my impression after the first use WOW. I have continued to use this twice a week concentrating on my scalp and my hair is very nearly back to its best. I love the silky soft feeling and my hair looks so healthy and i feel so much more happier about the way my hair and how it looks. Now i think im brave to get my dreaded roots re done again yayyyy!!

April Monthly Faves....

This months favourites have been pretty straight forward and ones that i have been using on a regular basis.

The Charles Worthington Miracle Elixir Oil has been my hair saviour this month. Ive noticed that the ends of my hair has been quite dry and just quite simply looking not its best. Ive been using this oil every other time that i wash my hair and have seen my hair look more healthy and shiny from using this oil and something that im going to continue to use.

Now this next product oh my days.... the Maybelline blush is GORGEOUS. The texture and the pigmentation is to die for. I have been using this blush everyday and its given me a lovely bit of colour that makes my skin more glowing with colour. I have not been been contouring with bronzer just basics this month and with just this blush it looks so natural and the staying power is amazing. It stays on all day. No joke!! Really worth it :) I think i will have to do a more in depth review on this beauty!!

The Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel needs no introduction from me. Its simply a holy grail product that does the best job at exfoliating without being too harsh and its a lovely fruity smell to it too. I think i may have to stop putting it in my favourites as its getting predicable ;) but seriously its a good exfoliator to have in your skincare routine. Can not recommend it enough!!

The Illamasqua Obsess Nail Polish is the perfect spring colour. A beautiful pink fushia colour thats given my nail that pop of colour. I have been loving wearing this month.

And last of all is the Maybelline Baby Lips. Its a great little lip balm to carry around that gives moisture to the lips with a peppermint smell. Its helped my dry lips travelling to and from uni.

That has been a very short monthly favourites. Not alot of experienting this month but im sure too for next month :)

What have been your favourite go to items this month?

FHI Go Straighteners Review....

Ive been holding off for awhile straightening my hair as ive wanted to give my hair abit of a break and ive seen so much improvement in the strength of my hair. I decided to treat myself to some new straighteners.

The FHI range is a big brand in the USA and ive heard that apparently its the equivalent in quality of GHDs. After so much research and reading reviews i thought i would take the plunge in getting some.

These lovely beauties have a variable temperature of 210°C which is reached within seconds and can be turned with the dial to the selected heat. It has floating tourmaline plates which produce negative ions to stop static.
The whole range of FHI straighteners are beautiful with different thicknesses and temperatures a whole range to choose from. The Go straighteners are a budget buy at £34.99 here. But ooze in quality.

As soon as the parcel came i was so excited to try them out and i was not disasppointed. Being compared to GHDs it had alot to live up to but ive absolutely loved the results. They leave my hair completely straight as anything but with a nice little shine too. They heat up like a dream and are so quick with the heating time. Ive loved how the plate is abit thicker just making it that more easy to straighten thicker sections. Amazing value for money and i would love to try out more heating equipment from this brand and i would have to say the straighteners are as equal to GHDs so if you are on a tight budget and dont have the money to spend as much then  i would recommend these so much :)
Would you try these out? :)

Charles Worthington BAFTA goodies....

First of all ive never won a competition in my life and when im on twitter il retweet a few comps that are going and then il just forget about it. Well i had a huge surprise when i had a mail from Audi Uk to say i had won the BAFTA gift bag eeeekkkkk :) it contained so many lovely prizes and 2 trips away!!

Now the bag that it all came in is such a unique and will be treasured bag. Its absolutely massive and the detail is incredible. Sorry for the not so zoomed in photo but by the envelope it just says' and the BAFTA is awarded to'.... The inside of the bag has the cute BAFTA envelope which is a lovely little pocket.

Onto one of the best parts of the goodies. Inside was a Charles Worthington Salon At home box which again will be treasured.

Opened up inside contains 3 products. A volume and bounce instant amplifying volume treatment, shine booster diamond shine gloss treatment and a strength and repair miracle repair elixir oil. As soon as i opened the box the smell is absolutely gorgeous from these products and i was so excited to try them out.

The volume treatment is collagen enriched and is ideal for all hair types. It creates maximum bounce and body to your hair. I love again that it has the BAFTA logo on the product another keepsake!! This is a rinse out jelly texture that works to lift the hair from all angles which leaves it fully conditioned for full voluminous hairstyles. After shampooing you apply this product onto your hair and massage for 30 seconds or so. By blowdrying upside down the volume is insane. My hair was so full of volume even with fine hair. It looked fuller and was able to get a nice but of oomph at the roots for the hairstyle i was going to. So a massive thumbs up!! Also big congratulations to Charles Worthington for being the official hair stylists for the BAFTAS fifth year running :),

The next product is the diamond shine gloss treatment. A dramatic shine and glossy finish with powdered diamonds. Its enriched with luminoll complex and is a rinse off formula. It smoothes the hair whilst nourishing the hair cuticle for a dramatic shine from the inside out!! You apply this product on dry hair not applying much to the roots leave on for 10 minutes whilst blowdrying on a low hot heat which intensifies the shine and then rinse out with warm water then follow with shampoo and conditioner. I had never tried a glossy shine product before so i was really looking forward to the results and i was not disappointed. My hair looked so shiny. healthy and nourished. My dark brown hair looked so glowy and the colour looked at its best. I will continue to use this beauty as the difference it makes is stunning.

The last item is the miracle repair elixir oil. This is a deep conditioning oil with a weightless finish ideal for all hair types. It has a blend of five oils including argan oil which nourishes, smoothes and makes the hair appear more silky. Applying 2-3 pumps through the mid lengths and ends of the hair. Ive found using this product nearly every time ive washed my hair that its really helped to build up the strength of my hair and has helped it grow loads. Ive also been using it has a hair mask too just to add abit more nourishment to the rest of my hair and its really worked.

Ive enjoyed using these Charles Worthington products and have seen such a difference in my hair that i think i will be purchasing more hair care from this brand.

Have you tried Charles Worthington products? what are your faves? :)

February Favourites....

This month i have been trying out alot more products to try and improve my skin with it having so many bad days and also my hair i wanted to strengthen it abit more. Ive been loving trying out more products and being out of my comfort zone with certain products. Aside from the beauty this month has been an okayish month ive been so bogged down with uni work and i cant wait till easter when i get my next break. Anways here are my faves for this month :)

The first item i have been loving is the Elemis Enzyme peel. If you havent read my review on it then go and check it out!! its the best exfoliator ive ever used!! It has a gorgeous smell, a cream like texture not bitty and works amazing on your skin. I have too much love for this little beauty!!
Ive been loving painting my nails more frequently but still find it a pain having to take off my varnish after 3 days to then being able paint them again because of work and this pretty quik remover does the job. So simple to use and cheap. Its quite small aswell so its handy to travel with aswell!! All you need do is swirl your nail around in the spongey part inside and then you are all ready to go.
The Barry m gelly hi shine nail varnishes have really been my go to colours this month. Ive already for the pinky/red colour and this blueberry one just adds to my little collection. They are so shiny and stay on so well. Beautiful colours that are ideal for spring/summer or if you are like me and want to see abit of high colour on your nails on a daily basis.
The vitamin c reviver spray from body shop has been more of a trial with this product as ive used the range previously but the serum. Ive loved using this in a morning after my shower as its so fruity and refreshing. Its been amazing to wake my skin up and also me :) but overall ive seen more of a difference in my skin alot more brighter and has helped to keep my skin looking more radiant.
The next product ive been loving is the herbal essence leave in treatment. Ive found that its made my split ends none existant and my hair feels so nourished and stronger. I havent been using many heated hair tools this month and i think that by having abit of time out with that and using this hair treatment as an intensive nourishment its really worked wonders.
The last item ive been loving is the sammy o thickening spray. I have really thin and fine hair so anything that gives me abit more thickness is what i really need. This little beauty has made my hair feel and look alot thicker near my crown and as enabled me to try out more hairstyles.
What have been your favourites this month?

"Your hair is your strength, no matter what length"...

Our hair is one of the most valued parts. We can spend so much time, effort and money to make sure our hair is just how we like it. Your hair is like your personality you decide how you like it whether its dying it purple or going for a nice chopped bob. I would say that when i have my hair done i feel a million times better especially when you get to that hair stage when its just not doing what you want it to do. Since having my hair coloured 3 years ago ive seen how much your hair takes a battering. Having it coloured means your hair is not as strong as with all the chemical that is going on to it. So looking after and nurturing your hair will make it 10x more happier.
I came across these two different treatments and both under £5. Bargain :)
First thing is the Loreal Elvive Triple Resist Arginine Masque Pot 300ml - Boots £3.70. This little pot is enriched with arginine and leaves your hair healthy and shiny from root to tip. It leaves your hair detangled and gives your hair the nourishment it needs. If youve ever tried loreal shampoo or conditioner then it smells just like them. Cant really describe the smell its just really unique. I applied this after i had shampooed my hair in the shower and left this on for about 3 minuted then rinsed it out. I cant tell you how good my hair felt after it just felt so much better and really shiny.
The nest thing i got was the Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Protection Cream - Superdrug £1.85. The smell from this is so fruity it smells gorgeous :) i applied this on damp hair and left it in as i was drying my hair naturally. When i woke up my hair felt so bouncy and really fresh looking. This cream really gives moisture back into your hair and helps to restore its strength. Really glad ive purchased it and my hair is alot stronger with using it. In a way i would say its like a hair oil and just another way of protecting your hair.
Have you tried any hair masks or protection creams lately? Any ones your suggest i check out?

Redken Review

I have been using Redken religiously for 4 months. I tend to mix between two shampoos/conditioners as i dont want my hair to get used to the same product as it leaves it dull and flat. Whereas if i swap between the two my hair looks and feels the best.

My hair for ages felt so damaged and horrible which was due to using too much heat on my hair so i was after a product that would make it look and feel stronger so i came across the Redken Extreme Shampoo. This little gem is a fortify for damaged hair and includes protein which builds up the strength in your hair. After my first wash this product i nearly screamed with joy my hair felt so healthy and looked glossy. WIN WIN!! It has an amazing smell to it which i cannot for the life of me think what it is. This shampoo makes your hair feel really nourished and protected and adds a healthy shine YAY!! It is abit of a pricey product but if you are after something to bring life and fullness back into your hair then i would say yes go for it you will not be disappointed.

Keeping with the same Extreme collection i have also used the Extreme Anti Snap. This provides heat protection, reduced the friction when brushing and also helps prevent split ends. You do not rinse this product as you keep it whilst styling. It is one of my favourite products. Protecting your hair is one of the most important things and especially if you use heat tools on your hair everyday your hair will start to lack in strength and appear quickly with split ends. This product does the job strengthens and protects. Amazing!!

For christmas i received the Redken Colour Extend set which i think now has all sold out as a set but you can still purchase individually. These products i have never tried before so i was very excited to see if they were as good as the extreme range. I colour my hair probably not as much as i should because i leave it until my roots are showing and walk around looking abit trampy at times ( sometimes we have them days? ). So especially having coloured hair your hair is already damaged from the dye so again you need to protect your hair as much as possible.

The colour extend shampoo has cranberry oil which provides a rich foam to enhance softening. It strengthens the hair retain the colour vibrancy and also creating a healthy shine.  I was not disappointed at all with this product i think it is the best shampoo i have tried for coloured hair and it contains all the right ingredients to protect and enhance the colour making it last longer.

  Why it works:
Redken’s exclusive Interbond Conditioning System and the breakthrough Fade Resist TM Complex wrap around each strand to optimise colour retention and improve colour vibrancy. Four powerful key ingredients work together to fortify weakened areas, resurface the hair fiber and help protect the hair from colour fading.

In the set also came the Colour Extend Condition with cranberry oil. This enhances detangling and smoother conditioner without adding weight. I found that by having the shampoo and the conditioner its the best set ever for your hair. Its a lovely little treat when you feel as though your hair doesnt look healthy or its in need of some extra nourishment.

Have you tried any of the Redken Range?

Sleep In Rollers

So i thought that i would blog about this non beauty product as i havent seen it much around the blogging world and thought that i would share my views on it.

Now the sleep in rollers are created by the lovely Hollie Wakeham and has been featured on Desperate Scousewives tv show on E4 (If any of you have seen it from last year?)I am quite lazy at times with my hair and i thought that these rollers would be perfect for me. I have naturally thin hair so i always like to have volume on the top (not too much) just so it looks and feels abit thicker.

The sleep in rollers come in this cute pink drawstring bag which is ideal if you want to take them on a sleepover or even just to hang up inside your wardrobe. Inside the bag you get 2 packs of 10 rollers.

The rollers are velcro on the outside of the roller and foam in the middle so they are really squishy (if thats a word haha) and foamy and then in between the velcro and the roller there is room for a bobbi pin to be clipped onto your hair so that the rollers stay in place. Inside the bag there is also a mini bag full of bobbi pins.

On the front of the bag it reads 'GOODBYE SLEEPLESS NIGHT. HELLO GREAT HAIR!!!'. On the front of the rollers it comes with some top tips on how to get the ultimate look.

So i sectioned my hair when it was dry and rolled my hair in the direction the curl that i wanted and secure the roller with the bobbi pin. This took me about 10 minutes to do before i went to sleep. When they are secured to be honest you dont really realise you have them in which is a great bonus!!

As i got into bed ready to go to sleep i found that resting my head on my pillows with the rollers in was the most uncomfortable ive ever been which when i woke in the morning (God knows how i went to sleep) i woke up with the WORST headache :( so i wouldnt agree with there slogan of goodbye sleepless nights. More like be prepared wake up in the morning with a massive headache.

On the other hand i would recommend keeping these in throughout the day or even a few hours if you are heading out.

(I am pulling a sad face due to the fact of the rollers giving me the worst headache experienced) But on the plus side my hair is VERY curly yayyy!!

Anybody tried them out?

Love Emily xx
