Five Makeup Product Face - Quick & Easy |

I have been wanting to share with you all my makeup look that has been so simple and quick to create just using five products. 

Before my makeup i will apply a primer to make sure that my makeup stays put all dont long. After using the primer i will then start on my bases which i have been loving using the Vichy Dermablend Foundation in Opal. As its a good skin day i will dot this foundation as a concealer on the parts i want covering up on a small brush. I find that applying some product to the back of my hand as a palette works best and then i use the tinyest amount to cover any blemishes/scars for a more precise application. This has really been working for me and makes me feel alot confident in baring much much natural skin on a day to day basis. I then use the product has a concealer too which i pay on under my eyes.

I then move onto blusher using the Nyc Cheek Glow which is a gorgeous coral shade with a hint of a glow so its a two in one product with a blush and an added highligher. I like to sweep this all over the cheek bone for a natural flush of colour. Im not too sure if they still have this product as i got this awhile ago.

Moving on from blusher i then go straight into my eye makeup. Keeping it very simple with the colour 'bare' i sweep this all over the lid. As im going to be wearing a bold lip colour im keeping the eyeshadow simple with more voluminous lashes. For my lashes i use Gosh - Boombastic which is the best mascara for volume that i have tried. It creates the lashes to look alot fuller without being too dramatic. I use two coats of this which really opens my eyes. 

Finally for a pop of colour on the lips i use another product from Nyc which is the shade 'smooch' its a lovely berry red toned colour which really works on my pale complexion.

Budget Buiy: MUA Makeup Academy Ever After Matte Palette |

I like to post about affordable/budget buy products from time to time. I love nothing more then finding a product at a cheap price and wowing me with the results. MUA is a a brand that i have grown to love this year and have built up quite a little collection. I think that with the easy on the pennies and bank balance price tag it also delivers in results.

After being completely won over by the heaven and earth palette that has been featured on my blog a couple of times i thought it was time to invest in another. I noticed that a couple of new palettes had been released and straight away my eyes were draw to the 'Ever After Matte Palatte'. As you can guess from the name the shades are all completely matte which is ideal if you arent a big glitter lover.

The palette has 10 shades that are all neutral colours and consist of warm and cool tones which can be worn alone or blended together. 

Shades: Unwrap (white), Butter (cream), Bare (Nude), Taffeta (Peach) , Fade (brown), Penny (bronze), Chino (taupe), Truffle ( chocolate), Fog ( dove grey) , Smoke ( black) 

 I start off with using two of them as a base colour which is either 'butter' or 'bare'  and then choose either 'penny' or 'truffle'  as a main colour and then if i am wanting more of an intense crease look then i will have either 'chino' or 'fog' blended in the crease. I then also use 'unwrap' as an inner corner shade and use it under my brow bone as a highlight.

What i love most about the palette is how it is very versatile which can be used either for a simple day look and then you can transform it for an intense smoky evening look without breaking the bank. The texture of the eyeshadows arent overly chalky or creamy they are just in the middle. I find that with using this palette an eye primer is definately needed as the lasting power isnt all day. The shade range is perfect and they are of decent quality too.

For blending they do a really great job but if they were more creamier then they would work alot better but i am really impressed of how well they do. I think using this palette for this season is working so well for me and it compliements wearing a bold lip too!!! ?The pigmentation of the colours are lovely and i find that i am using this palette on a daily basis as it has all the colours i need. I think that MUA have done amazingly well in creating such a lovely affordable product.

Autumn Beauty Picks |

So as the nights go darker quicker and the weather is getting colder its time to change up the makeup look. As ive said before im a very simple makeup girl and tend to stick to the same things for awhile but as its a new season i slightly change the products ive used. Ive chosen two products for eyes, lips and blusher which are the ones i use on a regular basis. 

Eyes - For the autumn months i like to wear a stronger eye look then normal which includes one of my favourite eyeshadows. The shade is called 'Mocha' which is a lovely rich bronzy colour from ELF. Its finely pigmented  and creates such a lovely intense look. To pair up with this i use the MUA 'pearl' eyeshadow for a brow highlighter and inner corner. It really helps to open the eyes in a subtle way. I then like to add a thin eyeliner look thats close to the lashes to define them slightly. 

Blusher - I am a big blusher lover and i think it really can add warmth to your face which is something that i need more in the colder months as my skin goes very dull. To help perk up them cheeks i have loved using the Maxfactor Miracle Blush in 'soft cardinal' which i have spoke about recently. Its a lovely bright pink colour that is a natural flush colour and perfect for paler skin tones as it really warms the skin up. On other days i have dug out one of my powder Illamasqua blushers 'Allure' which is a pretty muted coral colour with fine bits of sparkle added which adds a subtle glow to the skin. Both of them are my go to for this season.

Lips - I have two colours for autumn which i tend to stick to either a nude or a bold coral colour. For the bold lip look i have been using the NYC lipstick in 'smooch' which is a pretty pinky red colour. It makes my teeth look so white and i love wearing this dabbed on the lips after some balm likewise the ELF lipstick in 'natural nymph' a lovely nude colour that is suited to my skin tone and perks up my everyday look to make me look more natural fresh faced.

Review: Vichy Dermablend Foundation In Opal |

I have had always had breakout prone skin from my teenage years and the thing that most affects me is the scarring that is left behind. Over the years i have caked myself in foundation just to be able to cover these minor imperfections and to others it will look minor but to me it was always a big deal. The past year i have been using foundation less and less and opting to get in a good skincare routine habit which has totally helped to clear up my skin from how it used to be and i still help to control it by testing new products aswell. 

I was considering buying the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover foundation but after watching Lisa Eldridges Video on how to cover acne i decided against it. Her advice when it comes to foundation and skin especially breakout prone is less is more which means that spending more time on the area where your skin isnt as breakout or enhancing a feature. So mainly for me i focus on my eyes and cheeks to enhance them. Lisa explains that you dont need a heavy foundation to cover up everything on your face as for example 10% of your face could be breakout and the rest is healthy skin. So as i watched her use the Vichy Dermablend Foundation i had to try it for myself. 

Lisa uses the foundation as a pin point spot concealer with a fluffy brush. A light base beforehand and then concealing on top. The Vichy Foundation is a corrective one where it gives total coverage to imperfections which offers twice the coverage of a normal one. 

The wear time is second to none providing you apply a primer beforehand to make sure it stays place all day. It has a lovely blendable texture without being cakey at all. What i really love about using this foundation as a concealer is how well it covers spots and breakout scarring and is something that i would of never considered to have done or used before. It has really helped to give me that confidence to wear less makeup and more natural skin to shine through. 

Im not too keen that comes in a tube as only a little is needed and sometimes too much product comes out. I like applying powder to help set everything in place afterwards. Opal is the lightest shade and is very yellow toned for my liking but as im onl spot concealing and pin pointing it is easily blendable to match my skintone. 

I think that this a great product to try especially if you have any skin problems or redness that you want to cover up and its also well worth the money in the long run too so  it will last awhile.

Affordable Purchase: Maxfactor Miracle Creamy Blusher in Soft Cardinal |

Cream Blushers have fast become one of my favourite types of blushers. They are so versatile and last amazingly well all day. I was looking for a blusher that would help to give me a healthy glow which would add a pop of colour to my cheeks which would look completely natural too. I decided to try the Maxfactor Miracle Creamy Blusher in the shade Soft Cardinal. 

The packaging is a simple black casing with a translucent lid which helps to clearly identify the colour. The size is tiny but is ideal for travelling or on the go. The colour is a lovely bright pink that has a slight red tone to it and a dash of shimmer that is hardly visible but helps to create a subtle glow. Its a quite a sheer texture and i like to apply abit at a time to the apples of my cheek to build up the colour slowly. The pigmentation is amazing quality and adds a nice healthy flush to the cheeks. 

I think that this colour is perfect for pale skins especially with the red tone as it adds a lovely bit of warmth to the face. I love everything about this blusher and can see it to be an everyday staple of mine in months to come.

The Two Bold Lip Choice |

I am not an overly massive lip girl to be honest and if you are a regular reader of my blog then im much a nail/skincare girl but still love a lot of makeup too. Recently i have had a bit of a change in my makeup and trying switch things up. A night out planned in advance was the perfect excuse to experiment with a new makeup look - the bold lips. You might be reading this thinking why on earth doesnt she wear bold lips as they are a classic look but for me i just never thought i would get the perfect combination right. My night outfit was a little black dress number that had some pretty detailing but i didnt want to overdo my makeup so the bold lip was put into action.

I started applying my makeup with a subtle bronzed cheek, a lot of mascara but nothing on the lids as i wanted the main focus to be the lipstick. The two colours that helped achieve my look was the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 111 Kiss of life and Rimmel Apocalips in 402 Across the Universe. They are the perfect match as the Kate Moss colour is very matte but the Apocalips draws out more colour and a slight gloss to the lips. I really loved the combination of them both and i think that a classic red look can give an instant makeover and can make it appear that you have made some real effort!!

The 10 Minute Quick Makeup |

 Ever had the moment where its cold outside and its time for you to get up so you keep snoozing your alarm again and again until you are left with not long to get ready to start your day. This has been happening to me all week ive just been so tired and especially with the weather being so cold. 

The first thing i have been doing instead of my normal morning skincare routine just applying the Loreal Micellar Solution to two cotton pads sweeping them all over my face just to get any grim from my nights sleep. This literally takes 10 seconds and no less. 

Next i apply some moisturiser to my face and the one that i adore so much is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat as it sinks in quickly and doesnt leave you with a sticky or greasy face. Its a perfect base for makeup too and makes my makeup last all day. 

After the moisturising i apply the Rimmel BB Cream in light very slightly all over my face as i like abit of colour but nothing too heavy and using your fiingers to apply this is such a quick no faff process. The coverage is a good light/medium but can be built up if you have the extra time. This BB cream also helps to cover up blemishes so i just tend to use a small angled brush to spot apply precisely on any breakouts. 

Once my base has been applied evenly i then go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to hide any darkness under my eyes. I use my ring finger to apply this with abit of blending and its done.

For the cheeks i normally go for a cream blusher when i need to get ready quickly  - the one product for this is the Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 its a lovely natural peachy pink and using my fingers to dab onto the apples of my cheeks creates a natural flush of colour. Takes less then 10 seconds to apply. 

I then curl my eyelashes to make my eyes appear wider and alive. I use the Cosmopolitan ones for now they are pretty average so i need to invest in better ones but as i have naturally quite curly lashes this just adds a slight definition to my lashes. 

Pop on abit of colour to the eye lids which i use the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick - Bulletproof Beige which is a gorgeous champagne gold colour. It really makes my blue eyes stand out. 

After my lashes are curled they are then ready for a coating of mascara. The Seventeen Dolled Up Mascara is perfect for natural lashes and an everyday look. 

I then quickly use my Elf Lip Exfoliator thats in the form of a lipstick to gently get rid of dead skin and then im ready for a coating of lipgloss from Rimmels Vinyl Gloss which is a pretty peachy colour.

Palette Of The Month: MUA Heaven & Earth Palette |

Having recently discovering this beauty again and using it every single day i just had to express my love even more for it. Even though its been featured in my latest monthly faves i just had to mention it as its a firm fave of mine. As the nights come more darker and the weather gets more colder i find that 'autumnal colours' are very much needed to be brought into life. The plain jane of eyes (me) is long gone as im experimenting much more with smokey, warmer tones on the eyelids and having more darker colours blended in the crease. This palette is one of the best that i have used. 1. the price tag is amazingly affordable at a mere £4.00. 2. the colours are highly pigmented and blendable. 3. possibly a couple of chalky colours but that is it. 4. possible mac dupes. 5. easy to work with. 

The shades of the palette ranges from a soft highlighting shade, copper, muddy browns and dark browns which all can be used as one swipe on the lid of blended for more intense fun looks. I like to use the very lightest shade as an inner corner highlight as its not overly shimmery and really opens the eyes. I love experimenting with all of the colour shades and its made me get into creating more daring eye looks much more.

If you are on a budget and are after a good trust working eye palette selection that can be mixed up and suits all skin tones then look no further. This palette is the ONE.

MUA Heaven & Earth Palette

Review: L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water |

Im a little bit late to the party with this but i thought seen as this is my second bottle of the stuff it deserves a review. With this being described as a dupe for Bioderma it just had to be tried out. The latest beauty/skincare has gone crazy for micellar water which helps to dissolve makeup, unclog pores whilst keeping the skin supple. The L'oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water comes in a generous 200ml sized bottle and has an easy pouring out system on application. But do be careful as the water can just come shooting out at times. I really like how it gets rid of makeup easily and i wouldnt say a couple of swipes and your done like some claims but i do think a good few gos will get it off. The only bit i struggle with is getting off waterproof makeup with this as i dont think it does enough to get it off so i do use a eye remover product for this. The texture of the water is abit oil like which i think is really gentle on the skin and not harsh in the slightest. I do like that it gets off my face makeup but i dont personally see it as a cleanser as i think that i need something abit more to go in with a deeper cleanse. I tend to find this a much better option for lazy days as a pre cleanse and my skin is alot fresher and clean.

I didnt see any results with this benefiting my skin or pores but i just found it was alot better then using other makeup removers i have tried in the past and for your moneys worth its a cheap option if you are on a budget or if you go through makeup removers quickly. 

Overall i am really loving this product and will continue to repurchase as its cheap and simple.

Review: (Rimmel Scandaleyes) - Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, Scandaleyes Flex Mascara, Scandaleyes Thick and Thin Eyeliner & Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint |

As you can see from the title of this post its all about the Rimmel Scandaleyes Collection. I have four products to talk about and each one have impressed me. To me Rimmel is a brand that i have alot of love for and its another post that i have to gush about some of the products. I find that Rimmel are really pulling out great quality products at the moment and many of them are raved favourites. So when i was lucky enough to win some products i was so excited*. The latest collection to hit the streets has a 60s feel to the products.

First two products are mascaras - The Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara provides your lashes looking thick and volumed. The brush itself is rather large with fibre bristles added. This type of brush really applies the product easily and better to the lashes. Even though oversized brushes can be quite tricky to coat every single lash i found that this wasnt the case with this one as it has a figure of eight type of shape which ensures that all the lashes even the tiny ones get a coating whilst building length and volume each time. A couple of coats of this and my lashes looked amazing. Im really impressed with this mascara and didnt leave me disappointed in the slightest.

The Rimmel Scandaleyes Flex Mascara is an oversize mascara that has lycra for soft and flexible lashes. With this added formula it provides the lashes to look fuller and voluminous.The formula isnt overly gloopy or stiff to work with and takes a minute to properly dry to then be able to coat the lashes a second time round. As the wand is rather big make sure to not overcoat the wand with product as it can get easily messy. What i really like about this mascara is the lengthening effect is has to my lashes and it holds the curl effortlessly. I didnt experience smudging which is a bonus. The only part that is tricky is getting enough product and not over doing it as it seems with this mascara you can get too much. 

The next product that i was really excited to try and heard fab things about are the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paints. The Shade i got was '01 Mercury Silver'. The eyeshadow has a liquid texture and comes with a sponge as an easy application. The formula is creamy and so blendable too but dries almost instantly making you have to work very fast for your desired look. The staying power is phenomenal and they dont budge or smudge in any way. Even though this colour is not something i would wear on a daily basis i think that this added with other colours it could work to be more subtle or even as a dramatic look. I find the colour selection for these arent as wearable for me personally but i really do like this colour for when i am feeling more daring with eye looks.

The last product is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Thick and Thin Eyeliner in 'black'. The eyeliner is a felt tip pen feel with a 3d tip so you can choose between having a thick or a thin liner and i think its ideal to be able to get right in the corners of your eye with the thiner point and then using the thicker point if wanting a more cat eye look. This is a waterproof formula and i find that it doesnt budge at all throughout the day and the black is really pigmented so it really stands out too. I really do like this as an added alternative to my other eyeliners and its great to try out different ones. Will continue to use this for awhile and especially in the day for a more suble liner on the eyes.

Review: Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation |

 With all foundations i tend to like a good coverage and anything that adds abit of a radiance to my skin is a bonus. I am very wary of imperfections on my face and like at least medium/full coverage. But as my skin has been getting better ive been opting for less makeup. 

The Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation * is designed for traceless coverage that creates flawless skin with a light consistency and matches to your skintone to provide a natural finish. Its available in 11 shades and i am third in the shade line with '101 classic ivory'. This is more of a pinky undertone which i have and suits my skintone exactly which is very rare for me to find especially in a drugstore foundation. At £6.99 its an excellent reasonable price and offers medium coverage that can be built up. Its very light on the skin and hardly feels like you are wearing foundation which i really like. It glides on the skin brilliantly and for my personal preference i prefer to use my hands with this foundation to buff it into the skin well making it appear more natural.

I find with this foundation that it doesnt break me out and applies really well much like your other normal liquid foundations. Its a natural satin finish that isnt too glowy or matte. The staying power is a good 7 hours which i think is pretty amazing without needing a touch up.

Overall i really like this foundation and its come at the right time for this season. Doesnt make my skin overly dry neither. Very impressed.

Everyday Makeup |

Lately i have been opting for a very minimal makeup look which is just easy and simple with no faff. I find that putting less makeup on makes my skin better aswell so just cutting down on the amount of foundation and blusher has really helped to make my skin clearer.

To start with as a base i use the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. I have been using this for a good year now and i love how it creates a smooth canvas for your makeup but also hydrating your skin at the same time. I had mine from when my parents went to paris last year but im sure that you could find it on the internet easily. 

Once my base is all prepped and ready to go i then use my foundation. I have been using the Rimmel Match Perfection in the shade '101 Classic Ivory'. In the bottle it looks quite yellowish but in fact its just the right shade. This foundation is a good medium coverage and also leaves your skin with a lovely healthy little glow. Its not too heavy and is so light on the skin. I would say the coverage can be built up. I use my hands to apply this foundation as i find that it helps to give a more natural finish. If i was going out then i would use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to build up and buff into the skin.

After my foundation is done, i then go in dot on concealer where i have any blemishes or scars that need covering up. For this i use the imfamous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade 'fair 01'. I love that is has full coverage and itsnt too tacky on the skin either. Once everything is covered up i then use the Collection Illuminating Touch in the lightest shade. This is a lovely under eye concealer as it really brightens the under eye area whilst giving good coverage to cover up any dark circles. 

I then set everything with a powder which i have been loving using the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in translucent. This is a lovely powder that stops any shine/oilyness throughout the day. Can create matteness to the skin without looking too cakey. 

To add abit of defination to my face and cheeks i have been using the Rimmel Sunshimmer Bronzing Powder in '02'. Adding slight contours to my cheeks adds abit of warmth to my face as i am very pale. I find that this shade isnt too dark for my skin tone and could be easily built up if more tanned. The shimmer is very suttle so doesnt give you a disco ball effect. Sometimes i do leave out the contouring as i dont find it is a 'must' in my makeup routine. For the apples of the cheeks i have been using Illamasqua Sophie Powder Blush. A pretty coral blush with a slight shimmer. This has been perking up my skin and i really love the colour with my skintone too. Other times i do opt for cream blushes so i tend to mix up the blusher choices alot. 

As an added optional i use a highlighter to the tops of my cheekbone. For this i have been using the Sleek Face and Contour Kit. The highlighter is a perfect shade and not too glowy.

For mascara i have been using the Maybelline the Falsies. I like this mascara as it creates volume but i do think it doesnt last well as it can get abit dry. But i do think it gives the lashes a big boost. Finally for the lips i switch this up but lately i have been using the Nivea Pearl Shine Lipbalm. Adds a subtle pinkness to the lips whilst hydrating them too!!

August Favourites |

Again i cannot believe August has been and gone, and its like only four months till christmas which is crazy. This month has been lovely with birthday celebrations and catching up with old friends. Its sad to think that summer is almost over now. This month i have been keeping things very simple. My skin has been going crazy with dryness and sensitivity which is something im not used to. 

To start with the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic has been a complete life saviour with my skin. Normally i would turn to my trusty lush tea tree water but this toner has really helped to soothe my sensitive red patches on my face and also help to inject more moisture into my skin. I think that a toner is a very skipped out step in skincare routines and even though it may seem like it doesnt instantly see results its an added step to sort out your skin. Again its packed full if gentle ingredients like aloe vera, cucumber and chamomile. If you are looking for added moisture or even if you have sensitive skin then this is a great addition for your skin.

Aswell as my face been crazily dry my hands have been horrible - its reminded me of how my hands go in the colder months where i have to keep applying hand cream twice a day. The Garnier 7 days daily hand cream has been just what i needed. Its quite a thick consistency but sinks into the skin quickly and doesnt leave that tacky feeling. Ive been using it every morning and evening which my hands are thankful for. The past couple of days they have been so much better hydrated and no horrible dryness. Its super cheap at £2.99 and well be a winner in the winter colder months too.

I recently had my hair cut and instead of having my layers cut back in i decided not to as i wanted my hair to feel alot thicker instead of being overly choppy. Having fine hair i always want lots of volume to create thickness at the roots and the crown of my hair. The Charles Worthington Salon At Home Volume Shampoo is amazing. Its enriched with collagen which boosts the hair to be more bouncy and fuller. It smells divine and makes your hair appear to have way more volume. Once ive washed my hair i then blowdry my hair upside down to give extra volume. The shampoo also gives shine and gloss to the hair too. At £5.99 its a good price for giving your hair some much needed volume.

For my lips i have been using two products religiously this month. The first being one of the Maybelline Baby Lips which is the clear mint lipbalm. I can totally see the hype surrounding these lipbalms and ive been using this since my american haul earlier this year. The lipbalm is moisturising and hydrating on the lips that leaves them plump and soft. It also contains a spf 20 which is impressive for the hotter days. (hate having burnt lips) and the other product which also does the same job is the Nivea Pearly Shine Lip Balm - this leaves a sheer pink tint to the lips again leaving the lips so hydrated. I have been using this everyday as just an added bit of colour to my everyday makeup too.

May Faves....

Hi lovelies hope you are all doing well. I cannot believe we are only in the month of june and halfway through the year. I have officially finished my first year at university and the summer is a well deserved break!! Hopefully booking a holiday at some point whilst i have this time off. Plenty of relaxing is needed!! If you havent read my previous post im also on a abit of a lifestyle change at the moment eating healthy and exercising. Maybe updates on my progress soon?

 

 

 

Okay so onto my monthly faves. I only have 5 products that i have been using constantly as ive been trying to let my skin breathe abit and im trialing new skincare for my blemished prone skin. 

 

First up is this gorgeous plum colour lipstick 'plum perfection' from Collection (2000). I brought this about a year ago i think and ive just been reaching for this quite about this month. To be honest it is a more winter colour but i really think it suits my skin tone and ive not been much for going crazy on makeup this month so its just been nice to have a pop of colour on the lips. 

 

 

 

Next is the MUA mascara which i have reviewed in full before here. This mascara is abit dry but the wand itself just gives a very natural look to the lashes so effortlessly. Id say that if it wasnt as drying it would be amazing and it does such a good job seperating all of the lashes equally. I have been loving the natural look too this month so its been right up my street. 

 

The Revlon photoready cream blusher in 'flushed' is the most prettiest colour on the apples of your cheek. Teamed up with the real techniques stippling brush its the perfect combo. I love wearing this blusher as its not drying and it stays on for a good while too. It definately makes me feel more summer ready wearing this beauty!!

 

As i have said i am trialing new blemish products for my skin and i brought the Clinique ant blemish foundation '01' earlier this month. I think its a really good foundation and covers blemishes up so well and has a good medium coverage. The only issue i have is that it does tend to stick about to dry skin. The colour is the perfect match as i am so pale right now. I think i will carry on using this more for this month to be able to give a better review but so far im really liking this foundation. 

 

Last of all is the Body Shop Vitamin C microdermabrasion. Im a huge skincare junkie i admit and for me that is the one thing i enjoy is buying new skin products. I have heard alot about microdermabrasion and its basically a more in depth exfoliation. This one contains really fine beads that help to slough dead skin. Using it a maximum of twice a week it helps to reduce scars and rid of dry skin. Its worked wonders on my skin and the smell is so fruity and fresh. Its a lovely product if you are after abit more of a thorough exfoliation.

Jemma Kidd Make Up Secrets Book Review...

This book is actually my first purchase to do with beauty. Im very picky when it comes to books. I like it be knowledgeable, simple and engages me. Before i got this book i had read alot of reviews on it and was skeptical whether i would feel the same or not. 

So abit about Jemma kidd.... Jemma is a makeup artists who has worked with many fashion designers and photographers and of course famous people. Her amazing work has been featured in a bunch of magazines such as Vogue and Elle. She was a spokesperson for Max Factor and Rimmel and for 5 years she wrote a weekly column for you magazine. 2003 saw Jemma found the Jemma Kidd Make Up School in London where it offered a range of professional/non professional course. She has developed and produced 2 make up ranges. 

Inside the book she shares her wealth of knowledge from working in the beauty industry and addresses the key make up issues and answers questions that many women want to know. The book is split into two parts. The first part making make up work covers the basics, formulations, which products to use, how to apply them and how also how to wear colour. 

In the second part of the book its the problem solver where she addresses key beauty concerns such as how to take care of your skin, dealing with dark circles and blemishes.

 

First of all the images are absolutely stunning! They are so clear and really brings the book to life. I love Jemmas writing style of educating women without patronizing them and instead gives them the tools to use makeup with confidence. The way the books is so simple yet knowledgeable aswell so it isnt too basic either. From reading this book ive learnt tips and tricks i never knew existed which will bring me confidence in the areas i dont like on my face. When i first brought this book i thought i might just read it then never look at it again but ive been back reading it more and more whenever i want to learn something more. This book is really worth having if you are wanting to learn more about makeup abit more in depth and something you can build on. The price of this book is £16.00 and i think its worth every penny for the quality of the book and the information.
